Introduction」Accumulation of tissue free fatty acids(FFA) occurs in the ischemic heart and its relation to severity of ischemic cell damage has been describedl1,32,57). Studies with isolated, perfused hearts have revealed that the myocardial levels of FFA increase markedly not only during ischemia but also during post-ischemic reperfusion4,22,43,57,58).
